En 1965, León Ferrari presentó una figura de Cristo crucificado sobre las alas de un avión de guerra estadounidense bajo el título “La Civilización Occidental y Cristiana”, y fue un punto de inflexión en el arte argentino, además de que la personalidad y la obra del artista argentino quedarían fuertemente asociadas a la crítica radical de ciertas ideologías.
